ABOUT THE ARTIST CULLEN ROBERTSON

cullenrobertson-aboutCullen Robertson was raised in Ojai and has lived in numerous places across the U.S. He attended UC Santa Cruz, received a BA from Montana State University and an MFA from the University of Iowa, and worked at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum in New York. His work is in numerous private collections.

“I grew up in a large Ojai family, with a foster brother and there were always young people crashing in our family room. We were close to many local artists – painters, sculptors, ceramicists, writers, actors, dancers and musicians. I started drawing and painting at a young age, and have kept at it ever since then. My feeling is that painting is an activity that one can never attain absolute perfection in. One  must always continue to progress.”
